The New World

Declare your current industry or system obsolete and design a 'New World' where your solution is the standard.

💡 What is The New World?

‘The New World’ is a visionary technique. Instead of fighting the current system, you declare it “obsolete” and focus 100% of your energy on designing the world that will replace it. This is based on Buckminster Fuller’s philosophy: “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”

The Architect of the Future

In the “Old World,” things work a certain way because of history, inertia, and “best practices.” In the “New World,” you are the architect. You define the rules, the technologies, and the values from scratch.

Declare the Old World Obsolete

Identify the system that is holding you back and state clearly: “This world is over. We are now building the New World.”

Example: “The current global energy system (Old World) is reliant on fossil fuels and centralized control. It is obsolete.”

Envision the 'New World'

Describe your ideal world in vivid detail. What are its fundamental principles?

📌 The Future Vision
  • Principle 1: Energy is a human right, decentralized, and generated locally (e.g., every home is a power plant).
  • Principle 2: Waste equals food (a perfect circular economy where nothing is ever ‘thrown away’).
  • Principle 3: Technology serves the planet first, and humanity second.

Identify the Milestones

What major shifts need to happen to get from “Old” to “New”?

📌 The Critical Pathways
  • Milestone 1: Breakthrough in battery storage at the home level.
  • Milestone 2: Widespread adoption of micro-grids.
  • Milestone 3: Global decision to prioritize “Ecological Value” over “Market Value.”

Build the 'Prototypical' Action

What is the first, most impactful step you can take TODAY to begin building this New World?

📌 The Practical Idea

“We will launch a ‘Community Energy Cooperative’ pilot. We won’t wait for the government; we will help 50 homes in our neighborhood install solar and connect their batteries into a shared micro-grid, creating a tiny ‘New World’ node today.”

Practice

Problem: “The traditional 9-to-5 office job.” New World Law: “Work is a contribution, not a place or a time.” How do you manage a team in this New World?
